At all times, even when all things Ukrainian faced oppression, the embroidered ritual cloth remained a quiet sign of resistance and love for one’s own. In the homes of Slobozhanshchyna’s villages and towns, it was preserved as a prayer for freedom, as a symbol of dignity and memory.
The art of Slobozhanshchyna is concise, refined, restrained — much like the character of its people. This art became our inspiration and our treasure — an invisible thread connecting past and present, pain and beauty, struggle and life.
