The Okrayka collection draws inspiration from Ukrainian embroidery of the 17th and 18th centuries, which adorned the garments and belongings of the Cossack elite.
Okrayka was an embroidered band used to decorate the edge of a fabric. In the collection’s design, this motif appears in several decorative borders framing the central composition. Flowers, leaves, and scrolling motifs are mirrored on either side, creating a harmonious, symmetrical pattern.
The ornaments of Ukrainian embroidery preserve the memory of their time and the craftsmanship of those who created them. Through LATONA silk accessories, we are delighted to share this rich cultural heritage.
